my anger over politics and governance

it's not the news that stresses me out. it's the people.

social media is rife with a fallacious pronouncements and people eat it all up. it's likewise riddled by a parade of self-righteous and pretentious folk that only care when it's convenient. being online royally annoys me.

perhaps it's unfair if i put people to my standard. not everyone are as passionate about the government as i am. not a lot of people will find the time to actually care about what government is doing apart from the easily accessible media outlets. and i live out my days respecting that people have better things to spend their time on.

i shouldn't be expecting any depth. people are so enraged so many times that they don't follow through with it. they get mad, and then they're back to their daily mundanities. and that's what gets me. people really don't care, they just want to have a say, they just want to be part of a trend.

i'm enraged because i care too much about people not caring enough.

the "care" people are showing now is like people greeting you a happy birthday when you've thrown yourself a party and everyone's invited. it's like the people showing up to a funeral because they were roped into joining. it's like complaining about poor service and you shut up when you get anything complementary.

people will get angry, people will calm down - it'll be a vicious cycle. it's one thing to talk, it's another thing to walk. and you wonder why nothing ever changes?
